This project in Glen Cove, NY was all about bringing a dated kitchen into the modern era — not with a full remodel, but with a complete appliance upgrade and smart reconfiguration.
The homeowners had recently refinished their cabinets and countertops but wanted new, high-end appliances to match the refreshed look and make daily cooking more enjoyable.
Their main goals:
- Improve energy efficiency
- Add modern convenience (like a smart oven and touch faucet)
- Keep the layout clean and professional-looking
What We Did
Our team handled the removal of all existing appliances, updated electrical and water connections, and installed a full suite of stainless-steel appliances, including:
- 36” French-door refrigerator with a built-in water filter
- Smart convection oven with Wi-Fi controls and steam-cleaning mode
- Quiet dishwasher with a custom front panel
- Slide-in gas range with a stainless backsplash and new hood vent
- Touchless faucet and undermount sink combo for modern convenience
We also upgraded outlets to GFCI standards, ran a dedicated line for the refrigerator, and added an inline water filter under the sink for better taste and longevity of the appliances.
The biggest challenge was fitting the larger 36” refrigerator into a standard 33” cabinet opening — we had to adjust the cabinet trim and modify the upper cabinet height to ensure a seamless, built-in look.
Results
The kitchen now looks sleek and high-end without a full remodel. The stainless appliances contrast beautifully with the white shaker cabinets and quartz countertops, while soft LED lighting gives the space a professional yet cozy vibe.
Most importantly — the homeowners can now preheat the oven from their phone and monitor cooking through the app.
