This project in Hempstead, NY started with a simple request — “We love our cabinets, but they feel plain and outdated.”
The homeowners recently painted their kitchen in soft ivory and installed quartz countertops but still felt something was missing. They didn’t want a full remodel — just a smart upgrade to add style, comfort, and better functionality.
Our goal was to bring out the best in their existing kitchen through new cabinet hardware and custom interior accessories that made everyday use smoother and more enjoyable.
What We Did
We started with a full hardware design consultation — helping the clients choose from over 30 finish samples to find the perfect match for their warm color palette.
Here’s what the upgrade included:
- Matte black cabinet handles (128mm) on drawers and long pulls on pantry doors for a modern, bold contrast.
- Soft-close hinges and drawer slides for smoother motion and noise reduction.
- Pull-out trash and recycling bins installed inside the base cabinet.
- Spice pull-out rack near the stove for convenience.
- Under-sink organizer system to keep cleaning supplies tidy.
- LED motion lighting inside the corner cabinet for added functionality.
We also installed matching matte black knobs on upper cabinets and replaced the old, squeaky hinges with concealed soft-close hardware.
Total installation time — just under 1.5 days.
Results
The transformation was immediate — the kitchen now feels modern, functional, and premium without replacing a single cabinet.
The black hardware perfectly complements the ivory cabinets and gold faucet, while the added accessories made daily routines easier and more efficient.
