This project in Islip, NY started with one clear frustration from the homeowners:
“We love the size of our kitchen, but the cabinets never fit our lifestyle.”

The original builder-grade cabinets were too shallow, had awkward spacing, wasted corners, and didn’t match the high-end appliances the family invested in last year.
The homeowners wanted a fully customized storage solution that maximizes every inch of space and creates a clean, luxurious look.

This wasn’t a basic remodel — the goal was a 100% made-to-order cabinetry system, designed specifically for this home.

What We Did

1. Detailed Laser Measurements & 3D Design

We started by scanning the entire kitchen with a laser system to capture exact wall imperfections, ceiling height inconsistencies, and appliance depths.
Then created a full 3D mockup with:

  • Expanded upper cabinets (ceiling-height)
  • Deep drawers for pots & pans
  • Custom spice pull-out
  • Built-in microwave compartment
  • Hidden appliance garage
  • Soft-close everything

2. Custom Cabinet Fabrication

All cabinets were handcrafted in our local workshop:

  • Material: Solid maple face frames + high-grade plywood boxes
  • Finish: “Snowbound White” conversion varnish (industrial-grade, long-lasting)
  • Style: Modern Shaker with clean edge profiles
  • Hardware: Matte black pulls, Blum soft-close hinges & glides
  • Toe-kick lighting channel for warm LED strips

3. Installation & Fine Tuning

During installation, we:

  • Reframed the wall to accommodate a built-in 36’’ fridge
  • Added custom fillers for a seamless factory look
  • Leveled the entire base run (the old floor was off by ⅝’’!)
  • Integrated LED under-cabinet lighting
  • Installed a deep farmhouse sink with custom support base

We also built a custom corner drawer system — something you rarely see but homeowners absolutely love.

Results

The transformation completely elevated the kitchen.
The room feels taller, brighter, and infinitely more functional. Every cabinet, shelf, and drawer is intentional — built around the family’s exact needs.
